About LOCO Skate Project

• To support skateboarding by advocating for the development of safe and legal skateboarding areas.
• To raise public awareness about the urgency of safety for skateboarders and the benefits of having legal skateboarding areas in a community.

The Loudoun County Skate Project supports the need for safe and legal public skate parks through advocacy, educating the public, fundraising, and encouraging young skateboarders to be assertive leaders in their community.

For decades, skateboarders of Loudoun County have dealt with numerous problems concerning skating in illegal areas which has involuntarily grown into a major community issue.

While county officials and other community residents continue to build onto this issue, an effort for them to provide guidance or aid in establishing legal skateboarding areas is non-existent.

The Loudoun County Skate Project stands to protect skateboarders and nurture the skate community by providing safe and legal areas to enjoy the activity just like any other sport.
